Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nigel Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mercurius Faunus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nigel Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mercurius Faunus! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Faunus sees it coming and avoids it easily. Faunus misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Diaz.
Diaz moves away from the strike by Faunus. Nigel Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A looping hook to the body misses from Faunus. Diaz does a little dance to reset his feet. Diaz pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Faunus slips a jab from Diaz. Diaz fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
It looks like Mercurius Faunus has been cut. A swing and a miss from Faunus. Faunus has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Diaz misses with an uppercut. Faunus saw that one coming. A jab from Faunus misses. Faunus throws a right and a left that both miss. Faunus defending well as Diaz loads up on a big left hand. Diaz misses the jab. A big left from Diaz misses. Diaz throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Faunus counters with a straight right hand. Diaz swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Faunus counters with a nice uppercut. Diaz blocks a jab. Diaz misses the jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Faunus throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Diaz throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Diaz throws an overhand right that lands on Faunus's shoulder, as Faunus tries to avoid the shot. Faunus throws a hook but Diaz avoids it easily. Diaz moves away from the strike by Faunus. Diaz misses with a wild body shot. Faunus misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A punch lands to the side of Faunus 's head but he takes it in his stride. Diaz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Faunus sees it coming and avoids it easily. Diaz throws a shot from downtown. Faunus moves away and avoids it. Diaz throws an off balance right hand
and Faunus counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Faunus tries to clinch up but Diaz circles away and keeps his distance. Decent striking displayed by Diaz there. Diaz takes a body punch but keeps moving. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Faunus throws an off balance right hand
and Diaz connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Faunus jabbing away but nothing is landing. Nice uppercut lands for Faunus. That snapped Diaz's head back.
Diaz misses with a hook. Faunus works Diaz's body with a nice hook. Faunus connects with a good right hand that stumbles Diaz. Diaz circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Diaz tries to move into range but Faunus moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Diaz is rocked! Faunus throws a lazy right hand but Diaz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Faunus takes a shot right to the bread basket. A decent looking cross lands there for Diaz. Diaz jabbing away but nothing is landing. Diaz misses with a straight left. Diaz misses with an uppercut
and Faunus counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Oh Diaz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! A punch lands to the side of Diaz 's head but he takes it in his stride. Faunus takes one to the chin there. Nice defenses there by Diaz. Faunus moves forwards but Diaz connects with a nice, crisp jab. Faunus bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz moves out of range as Faunus strikes. Faunus needs to keep his hands up - Diaz had a free shot at his head there. Diaz is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Faunus ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Faunus throws out a loose jab but Diaz uses good head movement to avoid it. Nice shot lands for Diaz.
Faunus is rocked! Faunus rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Diaz counters with a nice uppercut. Diaz seems to have got his legs back now. Faunus is still on wobbly legs! Can Diaz finish him? A swing and a miss from Diaz. Faunus throws a looping overhand right but Diaz ducks down to avoid it. Diaz closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Faunus! Diaz dives in looking to finish! Faunus is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nigel Diaz! A less than humble Nigel Diaz misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
