Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cavalcanti throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nikitin was covering up waiting for the punch and Cavalcanti finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Nikitin has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Mano`s Elite BJJ Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cavalcanti looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Nikitin has picked Cavalcanti up and slammed him! Cavalcanti can't keep hold of the triangle and Nikitin manages to pass to side control!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bartolommeo Cavalcanti will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Nikitin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Bartolommeo Cavalcanti is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Nikitin shoots in and bounces Cavalcanti off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Nikitin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cavalcanti has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nikitin has managed to get both his arms back between Cavalcanti's legs - danger averted.

Cavalcanti is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Nikitin rolls with it to try and escape but Cavalcanti cranks on the arm and Nikitin is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
