Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rudolf Castile (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cortland Cartwright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Cartwright's choice of entrance music: St. Anger. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rudolf Castile! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Cortland Cartwright! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cartwright shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Castile but Castile pushes him off and we're back to square one. Castile tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cartwright was well out of range. Poor timing from Castile. Cartwright takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Cartwright keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rudolf Castile seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Castile works Cartwright's body with a nice hook. Cartwright has taken the fight to the clinch.
Castile fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cartwright working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Castile doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Castile manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Castile wants to control from the top but Cartwright keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cartwright escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Castile gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Cartwright looking to hit a scissor sweep but Castile is one step ahead there. Cartwright is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Castile wants to control from the top but Cartwright keeps moving. Castile will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Castile is stalling in the full guard. Cartwright working for a triangle but Castile defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cartwright is looking for a triangle but Castile pushes his legs off easily.
Cartwright is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Castile has his hands clasped together but Cartwright extends and breaks Castile's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Cartwright.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Cortland Cartwright! A relieved looking Cortland Cartwright thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
