The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Smith.
Zaraki misses with a jab, cross combination.
Zaraki is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Smith tries a head kick but it misses.
Smith thows a left - swing and a miss!
Zaraki throws a wild body kick that Smith sees coming a mile off.
Smith dips to his left and cracks Zaraki with an uppercut!

Zaraki walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Zaraki tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Smith defends well and Zaraki ends up having to push Smith into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

A head kick misses from Zaraki.
Smith thuds his right hand into Zaraki's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
It looks like Smith has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Zaraki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Smith tests Zaraki's chin there with a solid looking shot.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Zaraki manages to break the clinch.
Zaraki is trying desperately to land a takedown but Smith is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Zaraki.
Zaraki scores with a one two! Smith had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Zaraki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Smith closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Zaraki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smith as he avoids it easily.
Smith throws a head kick but Zaraki moves out of range.
Zaraki lands a slapping body shot.
Smith cracks Zaraki with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Smith avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Zaraki.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Smith, right into the meat.
