Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben Askren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunter is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Galneryus - Everlasting. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ben Askren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Tim Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Askren tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hunter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Askren somewhat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hunter.
Hunter leaves Askren with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hunter throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
No luck for Askren with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ben Askren. That's going to take a lot out of him.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tim Hunter hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Askren stands up over Hunter, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hunter lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Askren or not.

Askren turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Askren manages to end up in side control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Askren looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hunter with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hunter tries to kick Askren off but Askren keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Askren working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Askren wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hunter keeps working.
Askren takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Askren connects with a nice short shot to Hunter's temple.

Hunter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
