Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Irvin Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sorin Astaroff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Irvin Potter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sorin Astaroff! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Franklyn Lucas and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Potter tries to keep at a distance but Astaroff has taken the fight into the clinch. Astaroff is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Potter tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Astaroff smiles and moves away.
Astaroff rushes Potter and presses him up against the cage. Potter wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Astaroff has him pressed against the cage. Astaroff wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Potter takes a shot to the head. Astaroff stops a takedown attempt from Potter.
Potter breaks from the clinch.
Astaroff wants to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Astaroff tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Potter counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Astaroff wants to get back to his feet.
Potter keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Potter could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Potter prevents Astaroff from standing back up.
Still in half guard, Potter seems content to control.
We're going to have a standup here because Irvin Potter wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Potter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Astaroff pinned against the cage. Astaroff gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Irvin Potter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Potter gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Potter trying to control the position here. Astaroff throws an elbow that misses. Potter uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Astaroff's guard. Nice move by Potter! Astaroff wants to stand but Potter is controlling the position. Potter is stalling in the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Potter trying to control the position from guard on top but Astaroff is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Potter controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We're going to have a standup here because Irvin Potter wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Astaroff lands a left and a right that send Potter crashing to the mat, dazed. Astaroff thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Potter is rocked!
It looks like Irvin Potter has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Astaroff pushes Potter up against the cage in a clinch. Oh Potter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Astaroff pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Astaroff gets a clinch. Astaroff pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Astaroff closes the distance and clinches. A short right from Astaroff. Astaroff creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Potter with a big uppercut! Potter tries to clinch up but Astaroff pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Potter to the mat! Potter covers up and Astaroff unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Sorin Astaroff!
