Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Barra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiago Camargo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barra's entrance music is Walk Like A Warrior - Dead Prez. A fine choice. Rodrigo Barra looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Barra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tiago Camargo!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Camargo misses.
Camargo looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Barra tries to close the distance and clinch but Camargo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Camargo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rodrigo Barra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Barra.
Barra shoots for a takedown but Camargo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Camargo counters with a single leg into guard. Barra didn't expect that.
Camargo tries to free his leg and advance position but Barra is retaining full guard.

Barra looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Camargo tries to stand but Barra is controlling from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Camargo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Camargo takes a decent strike to the side of the head.
Barra looking to hit a scissor sweep but Camargo is one step ahead there.
Camargo won't allow Barra to get back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Camargo darts in and clinches Barra up against the cage.

Camargo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Camargo throws a knee to the head but misses.

Camargo manages to break the clinch.

Barra scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Camargo makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Camargo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Camargo lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Barra hang on?
Barra is trying desperately to improve position.
Camargo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Barra is looking to escape.
Barra tries to hold on but Camargo pushes him away.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Camargo lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Barra can't escape the position.
Camargo trying to control but Barra is having none of it.

Camargo wants to finish this one by submission but Barra is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Camargo.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Camargo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Camargo with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Barra's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Camargo counters with a shoot takedown. Barra fights it but they end up in guard.
Barra can't keep his opponent in guard - Camargo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Camargo is controlling the pace.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Camargo lands a nice short elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barra regains full guard. Nicely done.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Camargo wants to pass the guard but Barra is keeping the position.

Barra is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Camargo trying to control but Barra is working from the bottom.
Camargo is stalling in the full guard.
Barra will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Camargo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barra tries to avoid it but Camargo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barra to the ground. Barra escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Barra looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Barra shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Camargo as he jumps to the side.

Come on Camargo - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Camargo creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Camargo is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Barra can't fight it off and eventually Camargo manages to take the fight to the floor. Barra looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Camargo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Camargo gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Camargo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tiago Camargo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Camargo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Barra is fending him off so far but Camargo persists. Nope, Barra circles away and we're back to standing.

Barra shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Camargo as he avoids it easily.

and Camargo counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Barra's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Camargo has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Barra avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Camargo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Barra just stands there and leans against the cage.
Rodrigo Barra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tiago Camargo.

Camargo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Barra uses from the top position.

Barra drops back, looking for a kneebar! Camargo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Camargo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Camargo!

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Camargo is trying to stick to Barra's back but Barra is turning into Camargo. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Camargo's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Barra.

Camargo wants to control but Barra is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Camargo has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Barra is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Camargo.

Camargo is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Barra pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Camargo tries to roll over but Barra keeps him under control.
Camargo makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Camargo.
Camargo is trying to control the position but Barra postures up.
Camargo wants to sweep but no luck.
Camargo has Barra pulled in close to control his posture.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Rodrigo Barra has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Tiago Camargo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Camargo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
