Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ruud Gullit!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Honza Kucera!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gullit feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kuceras jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Kucera walks into a left hand.
Gullit looks to land a combination but Kucera avoids it well.
Gullit misses with a series of wild punches.

Kucera looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gullit is fending him off so far but Kucera persists. Nope, Gullit circles away and we're back to standing.
Gullit looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gullit bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.


It looks like Honza Kucera has been cut.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kucera goes for a double leg but Gullit avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Gullit continues to drive forward.

Ruud Gullit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Honza Kucera.

Kucera wants to take the fight to the mat but Gullit manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kucera had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gullit defends it easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Ruud Gullit will probably get the nod.

Gullit has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Kucera defend it? Gullit steps over the head and cranks it - Kucera is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Gullit!
