Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between JoJo Kush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Rios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rios has chosen Still Dre as his entrance music. Christopher Rios has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, JoJo Kush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Christopher Rios!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rios stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rios wants it to stay on the feet.
Kush shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rios as he avoids it easily.

Kush fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rios to the ground. Kush is now in Rios's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Kush's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Rios looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kush is one step ahead there.
Rios looking to control.
Kush postures up in Rios's guard and throws a big left but Rios blocks it.
Kush works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Rios is trying to stand back up but Kush is controlling him
Kush throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kush lands a nice short elbow.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rios avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kush.
Rios trying to hold on to Kush's head to control him but Kush postures up.
Kush seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Rios wants to improve his position but Kush is controlling well.
Kush throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Kush really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kush with the ground and pound but Rios uses the opportunity to regain guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kush accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Rios keeping moving, preventing Kush from controlling successfully.
Kush landing with the ground and pound.
Kush is in close to Rios's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Kush makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Rios is trying to keep Kush in close.
Kush throws an elbow that misses. Rios uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kush's guard. Nice move by Rios!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kush looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Rios puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Kush scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Rios manages to mount him!
Kush is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rios can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kush is looking to escape.
Kush is trying desperately to improve position.
Rios trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Rios pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kush is desperately trying to improve his position but Rios has a good base and remains in mount.
Rios fails to take his opponent's back.
Kush has given up his back here.
Rios biding his time, controlling Kush.
Rios is hanging on to Kush's back as he tries to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rios has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Kush's body.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Rios's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Christopher Rios was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Kush ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Kush closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kush lands in his opponent's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rios wants to stand but Kush is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

JoJo Kush dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Rios thumps Kush with a low kick.
Kush moves out of range of the body kick.

Rios clinches.
Kush tries to pull guard but Rios won't allow it.
Rios wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Kush fails to pull guard.
Kush blocks an uppercut.
Kush jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rios walks away with a smile on his face. Kush gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for JoJo Kush. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice takedown defense from Rios. No joy for Kush on that attempt.
Rios connects with a leg kick. Kush looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Kush gets tackled into the cage by Rios. Rios maintains the clinch.
Rios lands with a short punch from the clinch.
A short left from Kush.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kush tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rios's elbow.
Kush blocks an uppercut.
Kush fails to pull guard.

Kush tries to pull guard but Rios won't allow it.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Kush jumps guard but Rios stands there with Kush around his waist. Kush gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Kush content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Rios breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Rios clinches.
Good body shot from Rios.
Kush lands with a light punch inside.
Kush misses with a short punch on the inside.
Kush fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Rios tries to work over Kush's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Rios lands a left hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kush jumps guard but Rios turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Kush is trying to pull guard but Rios has him pressed against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kush blocks an uppercut.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Rios.
Kush working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Kush fails to pull guard.
Rios goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Kush is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rios to keep the fight standing.
Rios misses with a punch to the body.
Rios tries to throw a body punch but Kush avoids it by throwing Rios back against the cage.

Rios breaks from the clinch.
Kush shoots for a double leg takedown but Rios sprawls well. He's pushed Kush's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
JoJo Kush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kush shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rios pinned against the cage. Rios gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rios lands a jab.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Rios.

Kush shoots in for a double leg but Rios sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kush closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rios circles away.
Rios lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Kush keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rios's efforts to push away.
Rios looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Rios lands an uppercut.
Kush digs a right hand underneath Rios's ribcage. Rios let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Kush is trying to pull guard but Rios has him pressed against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rios can't find room to land a body shot as Kush controls the action.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kush.
Kush tries a body shot but Rios blocks it.
Kush jumps guard but Rios stands there with Kush around his waist. Kush gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Kush manages to pull guard.
Kush wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Rios slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Rios trying to control the position from guard on top but Kush is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kush will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rios has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kush is proving hard to escape from.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Christopher Rios showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Excellent takedown into side control there by Kush.
Kush wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rios keeps working.
Rios is trying to improve his position.
Kush fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Kush postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Kush scores with punches from side control.
Kush prevents Rios from escaping the position.
Rios taking a bit of punishment here - Kush scoring with strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kush lands some shots froms side control.
Rios is looking for a sweep.
Kush is trying to ground and pound but Rios uses the momentary lack of control by Kush to regain half guard.

Kush is looking to take a break and control but Rios is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rios keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Rios tries to get to full guard but Kush has control of the leg.
Kush throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Kush sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Rios defending well though.
Rios blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kush.

It looks like Christopher Rios has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rios tries to hold on but Kush pushes him away.
Kush postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Rios out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Kush goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). JoJo Kush!
