Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thvi Ekki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Staunton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Thvi Ekki has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thvi Ekki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Staunton! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ekki throws a front kick that sends Staunton stumbling back into the cage. Staunton scores with a nice strike. Staunton drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Ekki is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Ekki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ekki on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ekki tries to get out of the position. Staunton working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Staunton wants to control from the top but Ekki keeps moving. Staunton is in close to Ekki's body, working some short punches and elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Staunton cracks Ekki with a solid left hand. Staunton postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Staunton throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Staunton trying to control the position from guard on top but Ekki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Staunton sitting in guard here, content to control. Staunton in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Staunton wants to control from the top but Ekki keeps moving. Ekki looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Ekki is trying to keep Staunton in close.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Ekki gets caught flat footed, as Staunton shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Staunton sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ekki's guard. Staunton working over Ekki with some ground and pound. Ekki looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Ekki has hold of Staunton's hands but Staunton slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Staunton looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ekki with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. This has been an exciting period of action! Staunton is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ekki defends it well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Staunton seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ekki does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Staunton looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Staunton is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Staunton lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Staunton is trying to control the action in half guard but Ekki is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Staunton working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Staunton moves nicely into side control. Staunton tries to advance to mount but Ekki denies him. The strikes coming from Staunton are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Staunton throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Staunton is chipping away with strikes.
Staunton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ekki keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes there by Staunton. Staunton is putting a hurting on Ekki here, landing some big shots from side control. Staunton lands a strong strike to the head of Ekki. That's dazed him! Staunton looking to finish here. Ekki is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Staunton lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
