PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Donnie Felterbush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samick Behringer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Behringer has chosen Atari teenage riot - Speed as his entrance music. Samick Behringer will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Samick Behringer!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Behringer throws a good cross that connects.
Felterbush on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Behringer lands a jab to the head.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Behringer has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Felterbush throws a right and a left that Behringer avoids nicely.
A big right from Behringer misses.
Felterbush cracks a nice hook into Behringer's ribs.
Behringer lands a body shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Felterbush throws a hook to the side of Behringer's head but Behringer sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Behringer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Donnie Felterbush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Behringer fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Felterbush on the side of the head.


It looks like Donnie Felterbush has been cut.
Nice uppercut lands for Behringer. That snapped Felterbush's head back.
Felterbush walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Donnie Felterbush has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samick Behringer.

Felterbush works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This has been an exciting period of action!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Felterbush is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Felterbush takes one to the side of the head.
Behringer avoids a punch combination nicely.

Behringer closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Felterbush quickly recovers to half guard.

Felterbush is not content to let Behringer control the position.

Felterbush is holding on to half guard well.

Behringer seems to be looking for submissions.
Felterbush wants to get back to full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Behringer is controlling the pace.

Behringer is working for a submission of some sort.
Behringer trying to mount his opponent but Felterbush defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Behringer is looking for a kimura but Felterbush is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Behringer to get the leverage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Donnie Felterbush's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Behringer throws a combination. Felterbush tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Felterbush shoots in for a takedown but Behringer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Behringer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Felterbush.
Felterbush takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Behringer uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Felterbush has time to react.
Behringer lands with a cross.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Felterbush connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Behringer momentarily.
Felterbush takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Felterbush throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Behringer sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Behringer misses with a jab to the body
and Felterbush counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Behringer fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Felterbush manages to avoid it.
Samick Behringer seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Behringer lands a lovely overhand right.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Behringer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Felterbush sprawls well. Felterbush wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Behringer gets slowly back to his feet.
Felterbush looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Felterbush shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Behringer defends it nicely.
Felterbush throws out a loose jab but Behringer uses good head movement to avoid it.

Behringer cracks Felterbush with a big right hand and Felterbush goes down!


Felterbush is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Behringer loads up on a big left hand. Felterbush felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Behringer looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Felterbush can't hide his disappointment, as Behringer celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Samick Behringer!
