Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between DAVID TORRES (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vato Locos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Locos has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. DAVID TORRES has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, DAVID TORRES! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vato Locos! The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! TORRES gets a clinch. Locos looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! TORRES tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
TORRES lands an uppercut. TORRES using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
TORRES breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. TORRES fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. TORRES closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Locos to the mat! Locos manages to get full guard. Locos throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
TORRES lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. TORRES passes Locos's right leg, so he's now in half guard. TORRES is looking for a kimura but Locos is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for TORRES to get the leverage. TORRES is keen to just control but Locos is a slippery customer. TORRES has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. TORRES working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. TORRES is nestled in close to Locos, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. TORRES content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. TORRES is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. TORRES wants to take a breather but Locos is having none of it. Locos on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Locos looking for submissions off his back. Locos is looking for a sweep. TORRES is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. TORRES winds up and cracks Locos with a swinging punch to the side of the head. TORRES stands up out of the half guard. TORRES looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

TORRES manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. TORRES has his feet on Locos's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. TORRES looking for a takedown here - he's got it. TORRES drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and TORRES jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Locos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. TORRES doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. TORRES manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Locos is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Locos looking for a sweep. Not yet Locos, not yet. TORRES wants to control from the top but Locos keeps moving. TORRES stopping the sweep attempt from Locos. TORRES avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. TORRES looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Locos wants to get back to his feet. TORRES is controlling the pace.
Locos avoiding damage under a succession of punches from TORRES. Locos is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute TORRES jumps into side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
DAVID TORRES dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
TORRES tries to close the distance and clinch up but Locos swats him away and circles back towards the center. TORRES wants to clinch. The fight moves into the clinch position. TORRES breaks the clinch.
TORRES closes the distance and clinches. TORRES lands a hook that snaps the head of Locos backwards. Knees to the body from TORRES.
TORRES digs a right hand into Locos's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Locos's gas tank. TORRES pulls guard effortlessly. TORRES has his foot on Locos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Locos works his way back into a safe position though. TORRES throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Locos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. TORRES swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. TORRES is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. TORRES wants to sweep here but Locos controlling him for the moment. Locos drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but TORRES manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Locos has TORRES in his guard. TORRES stands and steps away. Locos gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Nice sprawl there from Locos as TORRES shoots in. Locos clinches but TORRES breaks the clinch and TORRES counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. TORRES pushing down on Locos's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. TORRES stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Locos forces TORRES back against the cage and clinches. TORRES scores a nice knee to the body.
TORRES prevents a takedown attempt there.
Locos tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

DAVID TORRES has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vato Locos. TORRES escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
TORRES has a takedown stuffed. TORRES tries to clinch but fails miserably and Locos counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. TORRES manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Locos manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Locos looking for a sweep. Not yet Locos, not yet. Locos is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. TORRES could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. TORRES makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! TORRES shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. TORRES throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. TORRES stands up from Locos's guard - TORRES perhaps looking for a knockout. TORRES with a lazy takedown attempt and Locos counters with a three punch combo that has TORRES backing up. TORRES nods at Locos to acknowledge the strikes. Locos moves out of range of the strikes. TORRES scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. TORRES controlling the position from side mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. TORRES tries to move into full mount but can't pass Locos's legs. Locos is trying to get back to half guard. TORRES is working Locos over with some ground and pound from side control. Locos is looking to reverse the position. TORRES decides to stand back up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Locos with a lazy takedown attempt and TORRES counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Locos looking for submissions off his back. Locos slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
DAVID TORRES dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
TORRES tries to clinch up and Locos counters with a nice double leg into side control. TORRES won't be happy with that. TORRES sneaks back into half guard. TORRES lands a couple of sideways elbows. TORRES looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. TORRES throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
TORRES works his way to full guard. Good work. Both fighters are breathing heavily. TORRES looking for a sweep. Not yet TORRES, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. TORRES has a closed guard, preventing Locos from standing up. TORRES looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Locos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
TORRES instigates a clinch. Locos manages to break the clinch.
TORRES has taken the fight to the clinch.
TORRES is pressed up against the cage. Locos has hold of a leg and is looking to drag TORRES down to the mat. TORRES avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. TORRES gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. TORRES is trying to control the position but Locos postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. TORRES is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Locos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Locos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Locos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. TORRES had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Locos is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. TORRES Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Locos's back instead. Locos tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! TORRES has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Locos's face.
Locos is looking to get to half guard. TORRES lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. TORRES lands a big elbow. Locos is working to get back to half guard.
TORRES jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Locos is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Locos and TORRES has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
TORRES is looking to take a break and control but Locos is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. TORRES laying and praying for a moment but Locos takes advantage and regains half guard. DAVID TORRES overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Locos is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of TORRES's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take TORRES's back! TORRES is really stuck here.
TORRES is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Locos misses with a punch to the head. TORRES rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Vato Locos has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Locos throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
And that's the end of the fight! Vato Locos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think TORRES has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
