The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Escibas or perhaps it was just good defense by Blomsten, which made it look bad.
Blomsten manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Escibas on his heels. He'll look to pass Escibas's guard now, I'm sure.
Blomsten drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Blomsten jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Escibas had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Blomsten defends it easily.
Escibas looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Blomsten is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Escibas on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Escibas tries to get out of the position.
Blomsten works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Blomsten is looking for a kimura but Escibas is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Blomsten to get the leverage.
Escibas wants to control but Blomsten is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Escibas wants to improve his position but Blomsten is controlling well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blomsten seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Escibas is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
