Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yuri Boyka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tatsuya Kawajiri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
36 - 14 - 3, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yuri Boyka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tatsuya Kawajiri! The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Ackerman and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boyka misses the jab. Kawajiri has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Boyka is landing a low percentage of strikes. Boyka throws a body shot but no joy. Kawajiri ducks under a wild hook from Boyka. Kawajiri steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Boyka. A slow jab from Kawajiri misses its intended target. Boyka swings for the body but Kawajiri moves out of range.
Kawajiri jabbing away but nothing is landing. Kawajiri lands with a straight right. Boyka didn't see that one coming. Kawajiri has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kawajiri there as he acknowledges the shot. Kawajiri throws a looping overhand right but Boyka ducks down to avoid it. Boyka scores with a shot to the body.
Boyka swings for the body but Kawajiri moves out of range.
Kawajiri moves out of range of the strikes. Boyka misses with a jab, cross combination.
Boyka misses with a looping right. Boyka bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kawajiri's head. Boyka ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kawajiri moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kawajiri uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Boyka. Kawajiri paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Kawajiri throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A shot to the body from Boyka misses and Kawajiri counters with a body kick. Boyka keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Boyka scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Boyka lands a really nice looking cross but Kawajiri seems unphased.
Kawajiri connects with a good right hand that stumbles Boyka. Boyka circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Boyka throws a big shot that misses. Kawajiri steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Boyka. Kawajiri moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Yuri Boyka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A telegraphed right hand from Boyka misses the target. This has been an exciting period of action! Boyka misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kawajiri.
Boyka throws a hook but Kawajiri blocks it. Boyka takes a swing at Kawajiri's ribcage but misses. Kawajiri throws a hook but Boyka avoids it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boyka scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kawajiri doesn't seem bothered though. Boyka throws a right hand that misses
and Kawajiri counters with an inside leg kick. Boyka misses with an uppercut. Kawajiri saw that one coming. Boyka digs a good body shot into Kawajiri's ribs. Kawajiri throws a jab but it's blocked by Boyka. Kawajiri takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Kawajiri moves away from the strike by Boyka. Boyka avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Boyka misses with a straight right. Boyka doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Kawajiri ducks under a wild hook from Boyka. Kawajiri ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Boyka moves away. Boyka's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kawajiri under the eye. Kawajiri gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Boyka.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boyka is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kawajiri. Boyka connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kawajiri momentarily.
Boyka bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kawajiri's head. Kawajiri gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Boyka. Boyka looks to score with a jab to the body but Kawajiri is just out of range. Boyka just misses with a punch to the body.
Boyka scores with a jab to the jaw. Kawajiri on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Kawajiri is rocked! Boyka fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Kawajiri is still on wobbly legs! Can Boyka finish him? Kawajiri throws a hook to the side of Boyka's head but Boyka sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Kawajiri seems to have recovered his senses. Boyka throws a poor cross that misses
and Kawajiri counters with a nice low kick that buckles Boyka's knee momentarily. Boyka throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Boyka looks to score with a jab to the body but Kawajiri is just out of range. Kawajiri lands a jab to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kawajiri scores with a shot to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kawajiri ducks under a wild hook from Boyka. Boyka is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Boyka throws an off balance right hand
letting Kawajiri counter with a right hand. Kawajiri avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Boyka throws a right hand that misses
and Kawajiri counters with a head kick. Kawajiri feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Boyka's calf. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Kawajiri - that will leave a mark!

Boyka swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! and Kawajiri cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Boyka throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Boyka ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kawajiri moves away. Boyka throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kawajiri counters with a nice uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yuri Boyka dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Boyka connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Boyka throws a hook but Kawajiri avoids it easily. Boyka throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kawajiri sees it coming and avoids it easily. A jab from Boyka does it's job there. Kawajiri moves away from the strike by Boyka. Kawajiri lands a nice looking body shot.

Boyka lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Boyka misses the jab. Kawajiri ducks under a wild hook from Boyka. Boyka scores with a shot to the body.
Boyka falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kawajiri counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Boyka is rocked! Kawajiri cracks Boyka with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Boyka tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Kawajiri pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Boyka is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
