Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Leroy Goins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Sobral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goins comes to the cage accompanied by Jay-Z - Tom Ford. Leroy Goins could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Julio Sobral's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 17 - 1, fighting out of London, Leroy Goins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Julio Sobral! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goins connects with a crisp jab. Sobral throws a looping overhand right but Goins ducks down to avoid it. Goins keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
No joy there for Sobral, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sobral shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Sobral was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Goins is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sobral asserts his dominance and retains side control. Goins tries to bench press Sobral off him but Sobral keeps the position. Goins's coaches at ~T~ Troid - Gym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Goins manages to get back to half guard. Sobral throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Sobral thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Sobral thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Goins's head. Goins makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Goins. Goins working for a triangle but Sobral defends it easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Goins wants to sweep here but Sobral controlling him for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goins is trying to control the position but Sobral postures up. Goins looking for a sweep. Not yet Goins, not yet. Goins is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Sobral holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Sobral wants to control but Goins is keeping busy.
Goins is trying to control the action in half guard but Sobral is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Sobral is looking for a sweep. Goins is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Goins slips a nice elbow through Sobral's hands, connecting with Sobral's forehead. Goins seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Sobral looking for submissions off his back. Sobral tries to get to full guard but Goins has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sobral trying to control but Goins postures up.
Sobral moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Goins working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sobral has a closed guard, preventing Goins from standing up. Sobral looking for a guillotine here but Goins defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sobral trying to strike off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sobral looking to hit a scissor sweep but Goins is one step ahead there. Sobral is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Goins is aware though and is defending well. Goins is pushing down on Sobral's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sobral is fighting to maintain full guard but Goins has managed to sneak the leg through. Goins is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Goins sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Sobral defending well though. Sobral is looking to improve his position.
Goins tries to pass to full mount but Sobral defends it. Sobral is looking for a sweep. Goins is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Goins is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Goins looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sobral tries to roll over but Goins keeps him under control. Sobral is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Goins scores with a couple of nice shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sobral is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Sobral is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Goins's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Goins's back! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sobral is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Sobral scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Goins is looking for a way out. Goins fending off the submission attempt from Sobral. Sobral sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Goins taps out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Julio Sobral! Julio Sobral decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
