The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maverick lands a nice looking body shot.
Okunaba has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Slaughterhouse MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Maverick swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Okunaba.
Maverick keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Okunaba keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Maverick.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Okunaba.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Okunaba is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Maverick looks calm but he's in trouble here. Okunaba gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Maverick is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Okunaba lets go of the hold and Maverick can pop his arm back in it's socket.
