Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Linwood Frank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcus Edwards has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Linwood Frank! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcus Edwards! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edwards shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Edwards is keen to just control but Frank is a slippery customer. Frank is looking for a sweep. Edwards is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Frank looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Frank kicks off Edwards and gets to his feet. Edwards lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Frank circles away quickly and effectively. Edwards misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Frank throws a low kick, looking for Edwards's leg but Edwards calmly moves out of range. Frank throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Edwards was covering up waiting for the punch and Frank finishes the takedown easily into guard. Edwards wants to sweep but no luck. Frank will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edwards has his foot on Frank's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Frank works his way back into a safe position though. Frank would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Frank throws a big right hand that misses. Edwards is trying to control the position but Frank postures up. Edwards is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Frank throws a strike but Edwards rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Frank really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Frank throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Frank throws a big right hand that misses. Frank won't allow Edwards to sweep him here. Frank slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Edwards avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

We're going to have a standup here because Linwood Frank wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Frank shoots in but no luck this time. Frank wants to clinch. Edwards stuffs the takedown. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Frank is defended easily by Edwards. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Linwood Frank. That's going to take a lot out of him. Edwards tries a head kick but it misses.

That was a close round but I would say that Linwood Frank will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Edwards must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Frank looking to hit a scissor sweep but Edwards is one step ahead there. Frank looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Edwards puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Edwards is pressing down on Frank's thigh, looking to free his foot. Edwards stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. No luck for Frank with that takedown attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The fight moves into the clinch position. Frank jumps guard but Edwards stands there with Frank around his waist. Frank gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Edwards is trying to push Frank away but Frank has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Edwards lands on the inside with an uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Edwards tightens his grip and picks Frank up, before dumping him to the ground. Frank manages to land in guard. Edwards wants to control from the top but Frank keeps moving. Edwards missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Edwards thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Frank looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Edwards drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Edwards jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Frank looking for subs off his back but Edwards has passed one foot through into half guard.

Frank manages to regain half guard. Good work. Edwards really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Frank. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Frank won't allow Edwards to pass to mount. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Edwards stalling. Frank tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Marcus Edwards showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Let's see what he can do from the top position. Frank escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Edwards gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Frank had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Edwards defends it easily.

Edwards goes for an armbar but Frank turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Frank. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Edwards has his hands on Frank's head, controlling the position. Edwards looking to hit a scissor sweep but Frank is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Frank lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Edwards manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Frank manages to get himself to full guard.
Frank has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Edwards doesn't defend quickly enough and Frank has managed to lock this one up! Can Edwards escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Frank on a fantastic submission victory.
