Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Danilo Mccarthy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Guerrero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danilo Mccarthy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Miguel Guerrero! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mccarthy misses with a head kick.
Mccarthy tries to clinch but Guerrero moves out of range. Mccarthy leaves Guerrero with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Guerrero closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mccarthy circles away. Mccarthy fails with an attempt to clinch.
Guerrero with a poor takedown and Mccarthy counters with a takedown into side control. Danilo Mccarthy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miguel Guerrero. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Mccarthy tries for a kimura but Guerrero is defending well. Guerrero wants to get back to his feet but Mccarthy drags him back down. Mccarthy tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Mccarthy lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Mccarthy could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guerrero manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Guerrero wants to pass the guard but Mccarthy is defending well. Guerrero stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Mccarthy to get to his feet. Guerrero looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Mccarthy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Mccarthy keeping control of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Guerrero wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mccarthy keeps working. Mccarthy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Guerrero stalling away here and it's allowed Mccarthy to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Mccarthy wants to sweep here but Guerrero controlling him for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guerrero trying to control the position from guard on top but Mccarthy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Miguel Guerrero hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Guerrero gets in close and instigates a clinch. Guerrero is working for takedown but Mccarthy is calmly controlling the position for now. Mccarthy stalling.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Mccarthy has Guerrero pressed against the cage.
Guerrero is trying to break free. Mccarthy wants to break free but Guerrero has control.
Guerrero has picked Mccarthy up - he's going for a ride! Guerrero dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Mccarthy trying to hold on to Guerrero's head to control him but Guerrero postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Guerrero seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mccarthy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mccarthy actively working from the bottom here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Miguel Guerrero will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Guerrero moves into the clinch. Guerrero lands with a light punch inside. Guerrero can't break the clinch.

Mccarthy gets in close and instigates a clinch. Guerrero blocks an elbow strike from Mccarthy.

That's one minute gone in the round. Guerrero has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mccarthy after a bit of a struggle. Guerrero on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Guerrero pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mccarthy has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mccarthy has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Guerrero changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mccarthy fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Mccarthy throws a sloppy head kick and Guerrero decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mccarthy's guard. Guerrero trying to control but Mccarthy is working from the bottom. Mccarthy controlling Guerrero's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Mccarthy keeping moving, preventing Guerrero from controlling successfully. Mccarthy looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Miguel Guerrero has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. A kick lands to the mid section there for Guerrero. Mccarthy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Guerrero.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guerrero keeps the fight on the outside. Mccarthy throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Miguel Guerrero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fight moves into the clinch position. Mccarthy is trying to force a seperation but Guerrero has the dominant position. Mccarthy avoiding damage.

Guerrero utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mccarthy postures up.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Miguel Guerrero was stalling too much, according to the referee. Guerrero staying out of range there. Guerrero misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Miguel Guerrero showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

That's one minute gone in the round. Guerrero slips under a jab from Mccarthy. Mccarthy throws a head kick that misses. Mccarthy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Guerrero manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Mccarthy defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Guerrero. Mccarthy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Guerrero tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mccarthy swivels and escapes. Danilo Mccarthy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miguel Guerrero. Guerrero tries a head kick but it misses.
Guerrero takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Guerrero fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mccarthy avoids it really well and circles away. Guerrero moves into range and clinches up with Mccarthy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Guerrero is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mccarthy pulls him back up using the underhooks. Mccarthy is trying to pull guard but Guerrero has him pressed against the cage. Guerrero jumps guard but Mccarthy stands there with Guerrero around his waist. Guerrero gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Guerrero tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mccarthy smiles and moves away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mccarthy doesn't manage to clinch there - Guerrero circles away.

Mccarthy gets tackled into the cage by Guerrero. Guerrero maintains the clinch. Mccarthy is trying to break the clinch but Guerrero is controlling him. Guerrero breaks the clinch.
Guerrero dives in for a single leg takedown but Mccarthy sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Mccarthy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mccarthy lands the left hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guerrero clinches up against the cage. Mccarthy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Danilo Mccarthy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Miguel Guerrero is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Mccarthy as Guerrero tries to tie him up.
