Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mose Compton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jake Hunter will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mose Compton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hunter closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Compton's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Compton seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Compton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hunter wants to get up but he can't break Compton's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Compton keeping moving, preventing Hunter from controlling successfully.

Hunter drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Compton dives on top into guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Compton is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hunter defends it well.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hunter decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Compton is concentrating on defense, preventing Hunter from advancing position.

Hunter is looking for a kimura but Compton is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hunter to get the leverage.
Compton is staying active underneath Hunter, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hunter drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Compton manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hunter has Compton in his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hunter is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Compton pulls his head out easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Compton lands a big shot there that rocks Hunter but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Hunter has his foot on Compton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Compton works his way back into a safe position though.
