Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Colonel Angus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Richard Grayson! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Angus drives through with a takedown into Grayson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Grayson can't keep his opponent in guard - Angus advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Grayson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Grayson looking for submissions off his back. Angus is looking to take a break and control but Grayson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Grayson won't allow Angus to pass to mount. Grayson is not content to let Angus control the position. Angus is taking a breather. Grayson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Grayson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Angus wants to lay and pray for a moment but Grayson keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Angus is looking to advance position but Grayson won't allow it. Angus moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Grayson. Grayson is looking to regain half guard here but Angus keeps moving and retains side control. Angus trying to control the position but Grayson is working away. Angus is trying to get an arm triangle but Grayson is defending well. Grayson is looking for a sweep. A control attempt from Grayson but he's now mounted! Angus can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Grayson is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grayson is looking to improve his position but Angus isn't that keen on the idea. Angus manages to capitalize on a mistake by Grayson to take his back! Angus working for a choke but Grayson is defending well. Angus knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Grayson on the ground. Grayson is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Grayson rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
This has been an exciting period of action! Angus trying to control the action but Grayson is working from the bottom. Angus is looking for a kimura but Grayson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Angus to get the leverage. Grayson felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grayson misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Angus passes to full mount! Grayson manages to regain half guard. Good work. Angus is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Angus is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Grayson sees it coming and defends easily. Angus thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Grayson's head. Grayson is staying active underneath Angus, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Grayson looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Angus wants to lay and pray for a moment but Grayson keeps working. Grayson is trying to maintain the position but Angus is very close to passing his half guard. Grayson is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Angus is staying active. Grayson regains full guard. Nicely done. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Angus loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Grayson trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Grayson looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Angus is defending well. Grayson quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Angus has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Grayson celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
