The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawlor tries to close the distance and clinch but Monster swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Monster throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Monster throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Lawlor.
It looks like John Lawlor has been cut.
Lawlor gets the takedown into side control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Monster takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lawlor tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Lawlor has hold of Monster's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Monster tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Lawlor cranks the arm and Monster screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Monster, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
