Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ada Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edgar Hoover (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoover has chosen Ecstasy of Gold as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ada Reyes! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Edgar Hoover! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some bone on bone action there as Hoover checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Hoover shoots in looking for a takedown but Reyes manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hoover's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Hoover has a takedown stuffed. Hoover closes the distance and clinches up with Reyes, looking for a takedown. Hoover pushes Reyes against the cage but Reyes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ada Reyes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edgar Hoover. Hoover shoots in for a takedown and gets it. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Reyes is trying to get back to full guard. Reyes wants to get back to full guard but Hoover has passed into side control. Reyes regains half guard. Reyes wants to get back to full guard. Hoover not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Reyes is refusing to be controlled, as Hoover sits in half guard. Hoover thows a huge punch but Reyes dodges it nicely.
Reyes is defending against the submission attempts here by Hoover.
Reyes is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hoover's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hoover's back! Hoover rolls, trying to escape but Reyes keeps control of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reyes is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Hoover just trying to survive but Reyes is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Hoover staying busy and making it hard for Reyes to control. Reyes not allowing Hoover to control his hands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reyes has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Hoover's body.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hoover has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. I would not like to be Hoover right now.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Good exchange - Reyes coming out on top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hoover fails with a takedown attempt. Reyes catches Hoover with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! A shot to the body from Reyes misses letting Hoover counter with a right hand. Hoover shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Reyes as he jumps to the side. Hoover throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Reyes was covering up waiting for the punch and Hoover finishes the takedown easily into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Reyes is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hoover is controlling him. Reyes tries to land a sweep but no joy. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hoover accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Reyes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hoover's guard. Reyes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hoover swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ada Reyes dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hoover closes the distance and clinches up with Reyes, looking for a takedown. Hoover pushes Reyes against the cage but Reyes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hoover shoots in looking for a takedown. Reyes tries to sprawl out of it but Hoover keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Reyes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Hoover throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Reyes's waist but Reyes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hoover off to one side. Ada Reyes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edgar Hoover. A shot to the liver by Reyes. Beautiful body shot. Reyes tries to clinch up but Hoover circles away and keeps his distance. Reyes explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Hoover looks for a takedown but Reyes sprawls well. Hoover fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Reyes, pushing him back against the cage. Reyes lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
I was talking to Reyes's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Hoover is breathing heavily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hoover is looking to take this one to the mat. Reyes misses with some punches.

Reyes lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Reyes scores with a nice hook to the head. Reyes misses with a knee to the head. Reyes pushes off an throws an elbow but Hoover leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Reyes lands on the inside with an uppercut. Hoover tries to pull guard but Reyes forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Hoover changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Reyes fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoover looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. A right-left combo lands from Reyes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Reyes slaps away a takedown attempt from Hoover, before circling back to the center of the mat. Hoover misses with a series of wild punches.
A looping hook to the body misses from Reyes. Hoover does a little dance to reset his feet. Reyes fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Reyes misses the shot to the body. Reyes jabs Hoover to the body, keeping him at a distance. Hoover motions for Reyes to come forward. Hoover throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Reyes with a jab. Reyes thuds a left hand into Hoover's body. Reyes pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Reyes lands a big head kick that sends Hoover tumbling to the mat! Reyes takes a step backwards and waves Hoover back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Hoover is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Reyes throws a sloppy head kick and Hoover moves out of range easily. Hoover is still on wobbly legs! Can Reyes finish him? Reyes has taken the fight to the clinch.

Reyes lands an uppercut. Hoover has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Reyes avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Reyes is pressed up against the cage. Hoover has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Reyes down to the mat. Reyes avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Reyes fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hoover, pushing him back against the cage. Reyes working some nice short punches in the clinch. Reyes prevents the takedown attempt.

Reyes thuds a left hand into Hoover's body. Hoover wants to stay close but Reyes steps back to make room for something. Hoover seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Reyes and Hoover drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Ada Reyes! Ada Reyes retains his light heavyweight title!
