PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brad Hallow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Dresden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hallow's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Hells Bells - AC/DC. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brad Hallow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Dresden!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dresden misses with the combination.
Dresden shoots in and drives through. Hallow sprawls well.

Dresden feints and as Hallow raises his hands in defense, Dresden changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dresden trying to control but Hallow is working from the bottom.
Dresden keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hallow's head.
Dresden really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hallow. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dresden is working Hallow over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Hallow keeping moving, preventing Dresden from controlling successfully.
Dresden might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hallow kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Dresdenis looking to pass into half guard but Hallow pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Hallow is in guard.
Hallow wants to stand but Dresden has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Dresden pulls Hallow in close to his closed guard and prevents Hallow from doing any damage or advancing position.

Hallow decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dresden, up you get!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Dresden feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hallow looking for a sweep. Not yet Hallow, not yet.
Hallow keeping full guard, as Dresden tries to pass.
Dresden is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dresden avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hallow tries to close the distance and clinch but Dresden swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hallow will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hallow fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hallow stuffs the takedown.
Hallow looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dresden is fending him off so far but Hallow persists. Nope, Dresden circles away and we're back to standing.
No joy there for Hallow, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hallow is breathing heavily.
Dresden keeps the fight on the outside.
Hallow tries to bum rush Dresden with a series of wild strikes but Dresden uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Dresden fails with the takedown

and Hallow counters by clinching up.
Brad Hallow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Dresden.
Dresden lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Brad Hallow has been cut.
Dresden tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hallow.
Dresden has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hallow is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Hallow wants to break the clinch but can't.
Hallow wants to stall.
Dresden drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hallow lands a right hand that snaps the head of Dresden backwards.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Dresden postures up in Hallow's guard and throws a big left but Hallow blocks it.
Hallow wants to get back to his feet but Dresden is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hallow utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dresden accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hallow preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Dresden looking to pass the guard.
Hallow can't keep his opponent in guard - Dresden advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Dresden takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Hallow trying to hold on to Dresden's head to control him but Dresden postures up.
Dresden sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hallow defending well though.

Dresden trying to control the action but Hallow is working from the bottom.
Dresden lands strikes from half guard.
Dresden lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Dresden with the ground and pound but Hallow uses the opportunity to regain guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hallow has his foot on Dresden's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dresden works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dresden postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hallow is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dresden, into his guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

William Dresden showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Dresden closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hallow to the mat! Hallow manages to get full guard.
Dresden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hallow swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hallow wants to stand but Dresden is controlling the position.
Hallow keeping moving, preventing Dresden from controlling successfully.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dresden loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Hallow has his feet on Dresden's thighs here. He's pushed Dresden off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Dresden screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
