The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Egeland shoots in for a double leg but Abelardo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
We've been hearing reports that Egeland has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Egeland checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Abelardo plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Egeland closes the distance and clinches up with Abelardo, looking for a takedown. Egeland pushes Abelardo against the cage but Abelardo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Egeland shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Abelardo counters with a nice body kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jan Egeland. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Abelardo checks a low kick from Egeland.
Egeland moves out of range as Abelardo throws a body kick.
Egeland blocks a head kick by Abelardo.
Abelardo is looking to land body kicks.
Egeland ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Egeland takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Egeland is defended easily by Abelardo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Abelardo takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Abelardo tries a head kick but it misses.
No luck for Egeland with that takedown attempt.
Egeland takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Egeland is rocked!
Egeland shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Abelardo counters with a perfectly timed head kick, knocking Egeland out cold! Wow, that took some serious skill and not a little luck! Abelardo is taking it in his stride though, strolling around like it's no big deal. What a guy.
