Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lindsey Sykes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Killer Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sykes has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lindsey Sykes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Killer Joe! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joe darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Sykes tries to get to full guard but Joe has control of the leg. Joe working Sykes over with strikes. Joe blocks the strikes from Sykes.
Joe is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Joe with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Let's hope that Joe has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's one minute gone in the round.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Killer Joe hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Joe drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sykes tries to improve position but can't. Sykes is breathing heavily. Joe lands a few punches from side control. Sykes tries to buck Joe off but Joe is having none of it. Joe has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Joe. Joe shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joe is figuring out what he wants to do next. This has been an exciting period of action! Joe sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Sykes defending well though. Sykes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Joe is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Joe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Ground and pound from Joe. Joe is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sykes taking some punishment here, with Joe in his half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Joe connects with a nice short shot to Sykes's temple. Joe is trying to work for a kimura but Sykes is defending well.
Sykes avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Joe. Joe moves into full mount! Sykes won't be happy about that! Joe punishing his opponent with strikes. Joe sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Sykes defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Joe.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sykes is bucking up trying to escape but Joe cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Joe tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Joe looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Joe breaks from Sykes's wrist control and lands an elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Joe lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Joe lands a big shot there that rocks Sykes but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Joe controlling from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Killer Joe dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Joe throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sykes was covering up waiting for the punch and Joe finishes the takedown easily into guard. Joe stands and throws Sykes's legs to the side, diving into side control. Joe controls the position. Killer Joe has got the better of the ground game so far. Joe trying to control the position but Sykes is working away. Joe controlling the position from side mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sykes takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Sykes is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. Joe decides to stand back up. Joe steps back and let's Sykes get back to his feet. Oh Sykes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Joe shoots and scores a devastating slam takedown! Sykes is unconscious as Joe celebrates over his stricken foe!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Killer Joe!
