PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Giljotin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Giljotin comes into the arena with Ticon - Miss 11 PM (DJ CHILLER REMIX 2011) blaring out of the sound system. Davidson has chosen Dr. Dre - The Watcher as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 18 - 1, fighting out of London, David Giljotin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 17 - 1, fighting out of London, Aaron Davidson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giljotin walks forward, straight into a front kick from Davidson.

Giljotin drives through with a takedown into Davidson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Giljotin throws a big elbow that misses.
Giljotin looking to pass the guard.
Giljotin is working Davidson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Davidson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Giljotin is one step ahead there.
Giljotin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davidson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Giljotin drops back, looking for a kneebar! Davidson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Davidson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Davidson!
Giljotin is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Davidson off and has taken his back!

Giljotin working for a choke but Davidson is defending well.
Davidson tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Giljotin has hold of Davidson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Davidson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Giljotin jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Davidson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Davidson and Giljotin has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Giljotin throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Giljotin throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Davidson works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Davidson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Giljotin's guard.

Giljotin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davidson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Davidson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Davidson wants to get up but he can't break Giljotin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Giljotin has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Davidson escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Davidson!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Giljotin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Giljotin goes for a double leg but Davidson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Davidson continues to drive forward.

Giljotin is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Davidson pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Davidson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Giljotin's best efforts.
Davidson has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Soul Supremacy - UK. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Giljotin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Giljotin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Davidson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Giljotin.

Aaron Davidson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Davidson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Giljotin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davidson's waist but Davidson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Giljotin off to one side.

Giljotin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Davidson sprawls well initially but Giljotin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Giljotin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
