Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rico Hoekstra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rico Hoekstra has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Nick Bravo's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nick Bravo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rico Hoekstra! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bravo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hoekstra manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Hoekstra connects with a good right hand that stumbles Bravo. Bravo circles away out of range and recomposes himself. No luck for Bravo with that takedown attempt. The fight moves into the clinch position. Hoekstra lands an elbow inside that Bravo shrugs off. Hoekstra lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Hoekstra stalls. Bravo fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Bravo taking a breather. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Hoekstra scores with a shoulder strike. Hoekstra leaning his opponent against the cage. Hoekstra lands with a right to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoekstra has Bravo pressed against the cage, preventing Bravo from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Hoekstra has Bravo pressed against the cage.
A knee to the head by Hoekstra.
It looks like Nick Bravo has been cut. A bit of stalling here from Hoekstra.
Hoekstra lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Hoekstra prevents Bravo from breaking the clinch. Hoekstra breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bravo tries to clinch up but Hoekstra circles away and keeps his distance. Bravo tries for a takedown but Hoekstra sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Bravo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hoekstra swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hoekstra closes the distance and clinches. Hoekstra manages to break the clinch.
Hoekstra fakes the leg kick and cracks Bravo in the body. Hoekstra looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hoekstra moves into range and clinches up with Bravo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bravo is trying to break free. Hoekstra breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bravo shoots in and bounces Hoekstra off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Bravo working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Bravo pushing down on Hoekstra's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Bravo decides to stand up. Bravo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hoekstra napping and manages to drive through into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bravo scores with punches from side control. Bravo is working to tighten his grip on Hoekstra's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Hoekstra has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Bravo is really squeezing tight and eventually Hoekstra passes out! Bravo breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Nick Bravo!
