The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lobas tests Haarmann's chin there with a solid looking shot. Haarmann uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lobas. Nice uppercut there from Lobas. Lobas's coach down at Xtreme Fight Club (easily best in Amsterdam) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Lobas's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Lobas throws out a loose jab but Haarmann uses good head movement to avoid it. We've been hearing reports that Haarmann has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Lobas throws a big shot that misses. Haarmann closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lobas did well to prevent Haarmann getting side control. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Haarmann is looking to advance position but Lobas won't allow it. Lobas wants to improve his position but Haarmann is controlling well.
Haarmann seems to be working for a kimura but Lobas defends the submission attempt. Haarmann in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Lobas tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Haarmann!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Fritz Haarmann! Fritz Haarmann decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well. The defeated Andy Lobas had this to say: 'Thanks to my sponsor Atlantis and to all the fans! '.
