Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Velasqs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buer Eremiel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buer Eremiel has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Cain Velasqs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Buer Eremiel!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasqs misses with an uppercut.
Cain Velasqs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Velasqs lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Velasqs throws a head kick that misses.
Eremiel throws a leg kick but Velasqs sees it coming and moves out of range.
Eremiel feints and then cracks Velasqs's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Velasqs down.
Eremiel avoids a punch combination nicely.
Velasqs connects with a leg kick. Eremiel looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

A head kick misses from Velasqs.
Eremiel takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Velasqs throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Velasqs thows a body shot but no joy.
Eremiel leaves Velasqs with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Eremiel takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Eremiel is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Velasqs.
Velasqs shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Eremiel pinned against the cage. Eremiel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Velasqs thows a body shot but no joy.
Eremiel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Velasqs.
Velasqs checks the leg kick.
An inside leg kick from Velasqs misses.

Velasqs closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Eremiel's guard.

Velasqs has gone for a leg lock! Eremiel slips out almost immediately though and dives into Velasqs's guard.

Velasqs working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Eremiel doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Eremiel manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Velasqs is looking for a triangle here but Eremiel uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Velasqs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Velasqs is looking for a sweep.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Eremiel stands up and we're back to a striking position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Velasqs closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Eremiel is looking to improve his position.
Velasqs throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Velasqs is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Eremiel doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Velasqs.

Velasqs is looking for a kimura but Eremiel is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Velasqs to get the leverage.
Velasqs is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Eremiel reverses the position - he's now on top in Velasqs's guard.

Velasqs working for a triangle but Eremiel defends it easily.
Eremiel seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Velasqs looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Eremiel has picked Velasqs up and slammed him! Velasqs can't keep hold of the triangle and Eremiel manages to pass to side control!

Velasqs is looking for a sweep.
Velasqs is working hard here to advance position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cain Velasqs dominated that round.

Velasqs throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Eremiel throws a hook but Velasqs blocks it.
Velasqs darts in looking for a takedown but Eremiel gets double underhooks and turns Velasqs into the cage.
Velasqs tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Eremiel just stands there and leans against the cage.
Eremiel is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Velasqs is defending well for now.
Velasqs jumps guard but Eremiel turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cain Velasqs. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Velasqs fails to pull guard.
Eremiel presses Velasqs against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Eremiel creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Velasqs tries to pull guard but Eremiel forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Eremiel scores with a nice hook to the head.
A nice right hand lands inside from Eremiel.
Eremiel tries to throw a body punch but Velasqs avoids it by throwing Eremiel back against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Velasqs jumps into guard, dragging Eremiel to the mat.
Velasqs keeping moving, preventing Eremiel from controlling successfully.

Eremiel is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Eremiel takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Eremiel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Velasqs keeps working.

Eremiel decides to return to a standing position.
Velasqs cracks Eremiel with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Velasqs shoots in but no luck this time.
Velasqs misses with a takedown attempt
and Eremiel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Eremiel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Buer Eremiel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Velasqs is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Eremiel's half guard.
Eremiel is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Velasqs's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Velasqs's back!
Velasqs is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Velasqs breaks Eremiel's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Velasqs drops back, looking for a kneebar! Eremiel looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Eremiel looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Eremiel!

Eremiel decides to stand up, so the ref orders Velasqs to his feet.

Velasqs drives through with a takedown into guard.

Velasqs throws a strike but Eremiel rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Velasqs can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Eremiel controls the pace.

Velasqs is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Eremiel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Velasqs looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Eremiel has picked Velasqs up and slammed him! Velasqs can't keep hold of the triangle and Eremiel manages to pass to side control!

Velasqs looks to throw the jab but Eremiel is out of range.
Eremiel throws a head kick but Velasqs moves out of range.

Eremiel swings for the body but Velasqs moves out of range.

Eremiel ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Velasqs shoots in for a double leg but Eremiel sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Eremiel throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like Cain Velasqs has been cut.

Velasqs shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Velasqs was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Velasqs has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Eremiel is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Velasqs yanks on the arm and Eremiel is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Velasqs.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Cain Velasqs!
A relieved looking Cain Velasqs thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
