Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Carneiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kamil Gadzhiev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carneiro comes into the arena with The Rasmus - In the Shadows blaring out of the sound system. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Kamil Gadzhiev was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Carneiro. No joy for Gadzhiev on that attempt. Carneiro drives through with a takedown into guard. Carneiro tries to free his leg and advance position but Gadzhiev is retaining full guard. Gadzhiev is trying to keep Carneiro in close.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Daniel Carneiro. Gadzhiev tries to sprawl but Carneiro drives through with a takedown into half guard. Carneiro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gadzhiev does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Gadzhiev tries to get to full guard but Carneiro has control of the leg. Carneiro wants to pass the guard but Gadzhiev is defending well. Carneiro is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gadzhiev sees it coming and defends easily.

Horrible takedown attempt by Carneiro or perhaps it was just good defense by Gadzhiev, which made it look bad. Gadzhiev shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Carneiro sprawls well. Carneiro changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gadzhiev tries to avoid it but Carneiro manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gadzhiev to the ground. Gadzhiev escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Carneiro looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Carneiro is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Carneiro trying to control but Gadzhiev is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carneiro unloads with some shots from mount but Gadzhiev bucks and avoids them well.
Gadzhiev sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Gadzhiev is looking for a sweep. Carneiro is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carneiro is thwarting Gadzhiev's attempts to control the position. Carneiro is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gadzhiev is just riding it out for now. Carneiro eventually gives up the hold. Carneiro wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gadzhiev keeps working. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carneiro is looking to take a break and control but Gadzhiev is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gadzhiev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carneiro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gadzhiev trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Carneiro manages to pass to mount!

Gadzhiev should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Will Carneiro go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
