Ferdanand kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Death note op 1. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silvennoinen throws a leg kick but Ferdanand checks it.
Silvennoinen swats away the attempt to clinch by Ferdanand.
Silvennoinen scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Ferdanand fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silvennoinen sprawls well initially but Ferdanand persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Ferdanand is stalling here. Silvennoinen is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ferdanand seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Silvennoinen has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Silvennoinen connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Ferdanand some visible discomfort.
Silvennoinen creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Silvennoinen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
