Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ranu Tedja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Eel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ranu Tedja has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ranu Tedja! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eric Eel! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Tedja is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tedja is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Tedja looking for a sweep. Not yet Tedja, not yet. Tedja will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Eel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Eel stays in close to Tedja's body and controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eel passes Tedja's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Eel is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tedja is just riding it out for now. Eel eventually gives up the hold. Tedja manages to escape and get back to his feet!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Eel takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Eel closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Eel working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Tedja tries to bench press Eel off him but Eel keeps the position. Tedja sneaks out the side door and pushes Eel away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Tedja tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Eel manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tedja gets tackled into the cage by Eel. Eel maintains the clinch. Tedja is trying to pull guard but Eel turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Tedja looking to stall.
Tedja is looking for a takedown. Eel blocks a body shot from Tedja. Eel stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tedja has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Eel is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ranu Tedja. That's going to take a lot out of him. Eel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Tedja misses with a takedown attempt and Eel counters with a left to the body. Eel misses with a series of wild punches.
Eel manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tedja on his heels. He'll look to pass Tedja's guard now, I'm sure. Eel engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Tedja working a defensive guard here.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Eel's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Eel drops back looking for a leg! Tedja is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tedja manages to kick Eel off! Eel jumps back into Tedja's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Eel sitting in guard, not really doing much. Eel got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tedja has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Eel has managed to get both his arms back between Tedja's legs - danger averted. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tedja trying to keep a closed guard but Eel is proving a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Eric Eel will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Eel gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Tedja is trying to drag Eel to the mat but Eel just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Eel wants the takedown. Tedja is fighting it off but Eel persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Tedja's guard against the cage. Eel passes easily into side control. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Eel tries to advance to mount but can't. Tedja takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's one minute gone in the round. Tedja tries to buck Eel off but Eel is having none of it. Tedja is working hard here to advance position. Eel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tedja keeps working. Eric Eel has got the better of the ground game so far. Eel stands up. The fight stays on the outside here - Tedja looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tedja. Eel closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Tedja did well to prevent Eel getting side control. Tedja manages to escape and get back to his feet! Eel closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Tedja fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ranu Tedja. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Eel gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Eel sitting in guard here, content to control. Eel is working Tedja over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eel is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Tedja looking for a guillotine here but Eel defends easily.
Eel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tedja. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Tedja has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Eel connects with a couple of short punches.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Eric Eel was stalling too much, according to the referee. Tedja tries to clinch but Eel is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Eel scores with a takedown into Tedja's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eric Eel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Eel tries to free his leg and advance position but Tedja is retaining full guard. Tedja manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Tedja putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Tedja looking for a guillotine from mount but Eel is having none of it. Eel is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Tedja wants to control the pace but Eel is squirming around nicely. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tedja swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Eel is now in Tedja's guard. A big mistake from Tedja there, giving up the dominant position!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tedja is trying to control the position but Eel postures up. Eel throws a strike but Tedja rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Tedja throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Eel looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Tedja puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Eel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tedja is working away from the top position though. Eel makes his way to full guard, as Tedja worked for a kimura.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tedja postures up.
Tedja being controlled here momentarily. Tedja won't allow Eel to sweep him here. Eel had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tedja defends it easily. Eel throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Eel wants to improve his position but instead Tedja has moved into half guard.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Eric Eel. Well Eel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
