Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miles David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Lens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jeremy Lens was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Miles David! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jeremy Lens! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! David bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. David is looking to take a break and control but Lens is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. David in side control, throwing shots but Lens defends. David working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Lens wants to get back to his feet. David with the ground and pound but Lens regains half guard under the barage of strikes. David sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Lens defending well though. Lens avoiding damage under a succession of punches from David.
That's one minute gone in the round. David is figuring out what he wants to do next. David is looking to stall here but Lens recovers full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. David is standing up over Lens. Lens looks to escape but David dives into side control.
The referee asks David politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. David prefers to stall for the moment though. David throwing strikes but Lens manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! David wants to control but Lens postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. David looking for a sweep but Lens has passed into full mount! Oh no! David can't escape the position.
David tries to hold on but Lens pushes him away. David is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position. David avoids a series of strikes thrown by Lens.
Lens looking to ground and pound but David is blocking nicely. David tries to hold on but Lens postures up. David manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by David, under a barage of strikes from Lens.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lens decides to stand and escape the position. Lens misses with the combination.
David feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. David trying to control the position from guard on top but Lens is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. David throwing strikes but missing. David slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. David wants to control from the top but Lens keeps moving. David trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. David sitting in guard here, content to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Miles David just wasn't active enough. Lens will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jeremy Lens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. David throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lens tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. David is in Lens's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. David throws an elbow that misses. Lens uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in David's guard. Nice move by Lens! David tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Miles David dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Lens throws a combination but it was largely blocked by David. David uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lens.

David is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lens. David tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lens sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten David somewhat. No joy there for Lens, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Nice cross by David. Lens gets caught flat footed, as David shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. David is in close to Lens's body, working some short punches and elbows. David missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. David working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lens is looking to stand up but David isn't so interested in that idea. David sitting in guard, not really doing much. David trying to control but Lens is working from the bottom. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. David trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Lens manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
That's two minutes gone in the round. David wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

David is figuring out what he wants to do next. David throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Lens to regain full guard. Lens is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Miles David overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. David trying to control but Lens is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. David is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Lens working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from David. David stops Lens from standing up. David with a flurry of punches that miss. David throwing strikes but missing. David working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. David lands a couple of elbows. David not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. David postures up in Lens's guard and throws a big left but Lens blocks it. Lens being controlled here, momentarily. David connects with a couple of short punches. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as David accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Miles David dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Lens's jab looks to have found its range, popping David under the eye. Lens connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. A punch combination from Lens misses. David throws a lazy right hand but Lens sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A momentary lapse in concentration from Lens enables David to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lens manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lens is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst David is controlling him. David trying to control the position from guard on top but Lens is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. David is looking to advance position but Lens has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! David is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's one minute gone in the round. David wants to control but Lens is having none of it. David prevents any damage by holding on tight. Lens thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. David is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
David tries to lock up and control but Lens gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. David slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. David preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. David moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Lens loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lens is fighting to break David's control of his arms but David is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. David has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Miles David. David shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lens's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. David trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Lens manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Lens being controlled here momentarily. David's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Miles David is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Miles David. Lens's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Lens duly obliges. Jeremy Lens seems to be getting the better of the standup. Lens tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but David was well out of range. Poor timing from Lens. Lens throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A punch combination from Lens misses. Lens takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. David keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jeremy Lens has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A jab from Lens misses. David throws out a powerful jab. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. David dives in and scores a takedown into Lens's guard. David working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Lens can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as David controls the pace.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Miles David. Well I reckon that's a shut out for David, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
