PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Barry Bonds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Choel Six (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Choel Six was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Barry Bonds!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Choel Six!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Choel Six has been cut.
Bonds throws a shot from downtown. Six moves away and avoids it.
Bonds takes a swing at Six's ribcage but misses.
Bonds throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Six sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bonds throws a shot to the body.
Barry Bonds seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bonds throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bonds definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Six drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Six connects with a nice short shot to Bonds's temple.

Six should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Six tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bonds defends well and Six ends up having to push Bonds into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

A close second round but Choel Six will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Bonds connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Bonds will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Six shoots in looking for a takedown but Bonds manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Six's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Six shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Bonds eats them both and turns towards Six to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Bonds tries to keep at a distance but Six has taken the fight into the clinch.

Bonds's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Bonds is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Six.

Six shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bonds as he avoids it easily.
Barry Bonds has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Choel Six.

Six is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Bonds defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Bonds is really stuck here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Choel Six comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Six has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
