2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luis Strickland! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, TJ Washington! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Strickland avoids a kick to the body.
Strickland will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Washington avoids the head kick by Strickland.
Strickland takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Washington misses with a head kick.
Strickland blocks a head kick by Washington.
TJ Washington seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Washington pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Washington shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Strickland eats them both and turns towards Washington to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
It looks like Luis Strickland has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Washington looks to land a combination but Strickland avoids it well. Washington misses with a series of wild punches.

Washington dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Strickland. That did some damage! Washington fails with an attempt to clinch.
Washington throws a sloppy head kick and Strickland counters with a two punch combo. Strickland rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Washington moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Washington throws a head kick but Strickland moves out of range.

and Strickland cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Washington fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Strickland keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Washington's efforts to push away. Strickland breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Washington tries a head kick but it misses.
Washington lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Strickland circles away quickly and effectively. Strickland throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Strickland lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Washington has cracked Strickland with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Washington lands another huge swinging hook and Strickland tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Strickland, before Washington can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). TJ Washington! A less than humble TJ Washington misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
