Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sarkis Terteryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terteryan kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Röyksopp - The Fear . Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
26 - 31 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sarkis Terteryan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
28 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Mir! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir moves into range and clinches up with Terteryan. Terteryan drags the fight down to the ground.
Terteryan has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Mir has passed into side control.
Mir works to advance to full mount. Terteryan defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Terteryan squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Mir lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Mir prevents Terteryan from getting the reversal. Mir lands a couple of good shots and Terteryan has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Mir tries to keep control of the position but Terteryan is staying busy. Terteryan controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Mir is trying to control but Terteryan is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mir looking to control but Terteryan is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Mir controlling from mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Terteryan regains half guard. Terteryan slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Mir prevents Terteryan from getting back to his feet. Mir tries to free his leg and advance position but Terteryan is retaining full guard. Terteryan wants to stand up but Mir is controlling him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Terteryan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mir's guard. Terteryan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Terteryan trying to control the position from guard on top but Mir is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mir is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Terteryan is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mir keeping moving, preventing Terteryan from controlling successfully. Terteryan throwing strikes from guard but Mir blocks nicely. Mir is trying to control the position but Terteryan postures up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Terteryan fails to land the takedown. Terteryan shoots in for a takedown but Mir shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mir lands a high kick!
A slow jab from Terteryan misses its intended target. Terteryan misses with a takedown attempt and Mir cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sarkis Terteryan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Terteryan lands a jab to Mir's midsection. Nice sprawl there from Mir as Terteryan shoots in. Mir throws a body kick that misses. Mir shoots in looking for a takedown but Terteryan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mir's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Mir shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Terteryan but Terteryan pushes him off and we're back to square one. Mir has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Mir clinches with his opponent.
I was talking to Terteryan's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Terteryan lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Terteryan fails to pull guard.
Mir ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mir no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Terteryan scoring with punches to the head and body. Terteryan trying to control the position from guard on top but Mir is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mir is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mir escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Terteryan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Terteryan trying to control but Mir is working from the bottom. Terteryan throwing strikes but missing. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Terteryan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Terteryan throws a big elbow that misses. Terteryan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Frank Mir will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Mir fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Mir shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Terteryan dives in and grabs Mir's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mir pushes down on Terteryan's head and hops out. Mir feints and as Terteryan raises his hands in defense, Mir changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Mir stands up from guard. Let's bang! Mir tries to keep at a distance but Terteryan has taken the fight into the clinch. Mir stalling the fight.
Terteryan is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Terteryan misses with a hook to the ribs.
Mir breaks from the clinch.
Terteryan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Mir. Sarkis Terteryan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Mir. Mir slips a jab and a cross from Terteryan.
Terteryan moves into range and clinches up with Mir. Mir can't get the takedown.

Terteryan tries to score a body lock takedown but Mir shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Mir has picked Terteryan up - he's going for a ride! Mir dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mir prevents Terteryan from improving his position. Terteryan with the active half guard here but Mir passes nicely into side control. Mir lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Terteryan down.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mir moves out of range of the strikes. Mir gets the takedown into side control. Terteryan wants to get back to his feet but Mir is dominant here and he's now got Terteryan's back! Mir keeps control of the position as Terteryan tries to break free.
Terteryan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mir punches Terteryan on the ear. Terteryan is trying to get back to his feet but Mir has full control of the position and if anything, Terteryan has just worked his way into a worse spot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mir looking for the choke but no joy. You can see the frustration on Terteryan's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Mir shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Terteryan's guard. Mir won't allow Terteryan to sweep him here. Terteryan pushes Mir off and gets back to his feet.

Mir is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Terteryan's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Terteryan trying to control the action but Mir is working from the bottom. Mir wants to control but Terteryan is keeping busy.

The fighters are battling for position here. Mir manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Terteryan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Terteryan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Terteryan trying to control the position from guard on top but Mir is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mir wriggles free and stands up. Terteryan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mir tries to score a power double leg takedown but Terteryan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mir somewhat. Terteryan throws a head kick that misses. Mir buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Mir shoots in and drives through. Terteryan sprawls well. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Terteryan crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mir - the referee stops the clock and Terteryan gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mir. Terteryan manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Terteryan stuns Mir with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Mir cracks Terteryan with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Sarkis Terteryan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Frank Mir is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Mir is looking to clinch but Terteryan is avoiding it.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Frank Mir. Well Mir has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Frank Mir! After the fight, Frank Mir was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
