The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Manalac shoots in and drives through. Valium sprawls well. Manalac throws a hook but Valium avoids it easily. Manalac decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Manalac lands strikes from half guard. Manalac wants to free his trapped foot but Valium is holding on for dear life with his legs. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Manalac connects with a nice short shot to Valium's temple. Manalac missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Manalac looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Manalac really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Valium. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Manalac is thwarting Valium's attempts to control the position. Manalac throwing shots but Valium is blocking nicely. Manalac working over Valium with some ground and pound. Valium looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Manalac not landing any meaningful shots this time. Manalac slips a nice elbow through Valium's hands, connecting with Valium's forehead. Manalac thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. That's one minute gone in the round. Valium is pressing down on Manalac's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Manalac must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Manalac throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Manalac postures up in Valium's guard and throws a big left but Valium blocks it. Valium is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Valium tries to strike from the bottom.

Valium is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Manalac has his hands clasped together but Valium extends an breaks Manalac's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Valium.
