PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Klashkinov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Domagoj Radas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ivan Klashkinov is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Klashkinov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Domagoj Radas!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Klashkinov has a takedown stuffed.
Klashkinov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Radas's waist but Radas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Klashkinov off to one side.

Klashkinov shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Klashkinov showed some decent athleticism there.
Radas wants to get back to his feet.

Radas is defending against the submission attempts here by Klashkinov.

Klashkinov stands up out of the half guard.

Radas decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Radas in particular looking to stall.

Radas seems to be working for a kimura but Klashkinov defends the submission attempt.

Radas is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Klashkinov has escaped the position, nice work there.
Klashkinov tries to buck Radas off but Radas is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Domagoj Radas will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Klashkinov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Radas pinned against the cage. Radas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Radas has taken the fight to the clinch.
Klashkinov works on Radas's body with a couple of short punches.

Klashkinov fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Radas wants to stand but Klashkinov has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Radas is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Radas connects with a nice short shot to Klashkinov's temple.

Radas is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Klashkinov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Radas is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We're going to have a standup here because Ivan Klashkinov wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Klashkinov tries to clinch up but Radas circles away and keeps his distance.
Radas lands a nice looking body kick.

Radas closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Klashkinov is pushing Radas's head away, looking to escape. Radas manages to hold on to the position though.

Radas is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Klashkinov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Radas connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Klashkinov some visible discomfort.

Domagoj Radas has got the better of the ground game so far.
Klashkinov is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Radas off and has taken his back!

Domagoj Radas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Klashkinov has a closed guard, preventing Radas from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Radas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Klashkinov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Radas is fending him off so far but Klashkinov persists. Nope, Radas circles away and we're back to standing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Radas wants to control from the top but Klashkinov keeps moving.

Klashkinov manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Radas jumps guard and drags Klashkinov to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Klashkinov looking to sit in guard and control but Radas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Radas content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Klashkinov has locked up a guillotine! Klashkinov's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Radas is holding on here and Klashkinov must be using up a lot of energy. Radas has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Klashkinov gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
