Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Clyde Blankenship! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Demian Satkowski! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Satkowski moves in looking to clinch but Blankenship pushes him off. Satkowski darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Blankenship is defending against the submission attempts here by Satkowski.
Satkowski is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blankenship preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Blankenship is defending against the submission attempts here by Satkowski.
Blankenship is trying to stand up here but Satkowski is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blankenship desperately trying to maintain half guard. Blankenship is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Blankenship could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Satkowski stands up from half guard. Blankenship changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Satkowski tries to avoid it but Blankenship manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Satkowski to the ground. Satkowski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Satkowski closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Blankenship to the mat! Blankenship manages to get full guard. Satkowski is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Satkowski wants to control from the top but Blankenship keeps moving. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Satkowski slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Demian Satkowski wasn't active enough on the ground. Satkowski gets a takedown into half guard. Blankenship has one foot on Satkowski's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Satkowski moves in looking to clinch but Blankenship pushes him off. Blankenship might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Blankenship is refusing to be controlled, as Satkowski sits in half guard. Satkowski slows the pace down in half guard. Blankenship wants to get back to his feet. Satkowski seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Blankenship does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Demian Satkowski. Blankenship gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Satkowski to score an easy takedown into full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blankenship pulls Satkowski in close to his closed guard and prevents Satkowski from doing any damage or advancing position. Satkowski wants to stand but Blankenship is controlling his posture from full guard. Blankenship manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Satkowski has clasped his hands together around Blankenship's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Blankenship struggling a bit here. Satkowski creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Blankenship sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

He has the arm isolated but Blankenship is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Blankenship isn't going anywhere. Satkowski is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Blankenship has escaped the position, nice work there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Blankenship wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Blankenship managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Satkowski.

Satkowski wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Blankenship, who protects the arm well. Satkowski is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Blankenship knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Satkowski is breathing heavily.

Satkowski defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Blankenship is punishing Satkowski with strikes - can he finish him?! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Blankenship lands a shot to the head. Demian Satkowski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Satkowski passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Blankenship keeping hold of Satkowski's head, controlling as best he can. Blankenship pushes Satkowski off looking to stand but Satkowski dives back in and keeps control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Satkowski takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Blankenship tries to kick Satkowski off but Satkowski keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Blankenship is not content to let Satkowski control the position. Blankenship makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Blankenship gets caught napping as Satkowski dives in and scores a takedown. Blankenship manages to retain guard.

Blankenship wants to control but Satkowski is having none of it. Satkowski wants to control the pace but Blankenship is squirming around nicely. This has been an exciting period of action! Blankenship tries to hold on but Satkowski pushes him away. Blankenship is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blankenship tries to get back to half guard but can't. Blankenship is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Satkowski wants to stand but Blankenship is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Blankenship is squirming around, avoiding Satkowski's attempts to control the action. Blankenship wants to hold on but Satkowski pushes him away. Satkowski is in the full mount, landing strikes. Satkowski lands a couple of good shots and Blankenship has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Blankenship trying to control the hands but Satkowski breaks the grip. Satkowski punishes Blankenship with strikes from the back mount.
Blankenship is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Blankenship showing good submission defense here.
