And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Clayton Fydrich!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fydrich misses with a double jab

and Alvarez counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Alvarez advances position into side control!
Alvarez is staying tight to Fydrich's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Alvarez is putting a hurting on Fydrich here, landing some big shots from side control.
Alvarez lands some shots froms side control.
Alvarez working the head and body with strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Fydrich takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Alvarez scores with punches from side control.
A lull in the action here.
Fydrich looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Fydrich really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alvarez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Alvarez decides to stand back up.
Fydrich fails with the takedown

and Alvarez holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Alvarez wants the takedown. Fydrich is fighting it off but Alvarez persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Fydrich's guard against the cage.
Alvarez works over Fydrich with some ground and pound from guard.
Alvarez is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Alvarez stands up and waves to Fydrich to follow him.
Fydrich tries to clinch but Alvarez moves away

and Alvarez counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Alvarez landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.


Fydrich is rocked!
Alvarez working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Fydrich is still in real trouble! Can Alvarez finish him?
Alvarez lands a big elbow - Fydrich is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Alvarez!
