Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Clifton Carey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Monty Python! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Python misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Python misses the body punch and Carey decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Python's guard. Carey is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Carey throws a big right hand that misses. Carey not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Python uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Python throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Python lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Python is looking to stand up but Carey isn't so interested in that idea.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carey showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Carey throwing strikes but missing. Carey really is a fat lump. Carey postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Carey controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Python wants to stand and escape but Carey is having none of it. Carey makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carey is looking to work some ground and pound but Python has wrist control. Carey throwing strikes but missing. Carey working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Python can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Carey controls the pace. Carey in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Carey wants to control from the top but Python keeps moving. Carey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Carey throwing strikes from guard but Python blocks nicely. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The ref stands the fighters back up because Clifton Carey just wasn't active enough. Python moves into the clinch successfully.
Carey pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Monty Python is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Python throws a nice looking combination but Carey bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Python lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Carey dodges the punch combination from Python.

Carey connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A solid leg kick lands there for Python.
Carey throws the kick towards the body but Python avoids it. Carey shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Carey. Carey gets a double leg takedown into Python's guard. Carey is breathing heavily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Python wants to stand and escape but Carey is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Python avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Carey trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Carey prevents Python from getting back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Clifton Carey dominated that round. The cut man is working on Clifton Carey's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Python is looking to slow Carey down with leg kicks. Carey throws a sloppy head kick and Python moves out of range easily. Python shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Carey eats them both and turns towards Python to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Python tries to clinch up. Carey throws a right and a left that both miss. Python lands a head kick!
Carey takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Carey jabbing away but nothing is landing. Python is looking to clinch but Carey is avoiding it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Python jabs at Carey's body. Python closes the distance and pushes Carey back into the cage. Python escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carey throws a body kick despite being completely out of range enabling Python to counter with a crisp jab. Carey on the wrong end of a nice jab. Python throws a right hand that Carey ducks under and follows up with a left that Carey also avoids with ease. Carey fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Carey misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Python lands with a thumping leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Python leaves Carey with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Python lands a head kick. Carey smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Carey takes a shot right to the bread basket. Carey walks into a jab. Python gets in close and tags Carey with a short punch that almost sends Carey to the mat! Oh Carey is in big trouble! He turns his back on Python, trying to create some distance but Python rushes him, striking wildly and Carey goes down! The referee tackles Python into the cage to end the fight! Python is one violent man!
