Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, T J Delarosa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Philip Irwin! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Irwin rushes Delarosa and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Irwin stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Irwin lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Irwin manages to break the clinch.
Irwin thows a body kick. Delarosa tries to catch it but that hurt him. Irwin swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Delarosa. Irwin lands with a nice body kick. Irwin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Delarosa.
Delarosa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Irwin moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Delarosa throws a series of punches but Irwin moves out of range. Delarosa is breathing heavily. Irwin avoids a punch combination nicely.
Irwin lands a high kick!
It looks like T J Delarosa has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Irwin misses with an uppercut
and Delarosa counters with a one-two to the body. Irwin lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Delarosa at a distance.
Philip Irwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Delarosa has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Irwin. Irwin stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Irwin drops Delarosa with a naaaaasty hook - Delarosa is in real trouble here! Irwin dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
