We've been informed that Eriksson has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

It looks like Masamichi Yamaji has been cut.
Eriksson shoots for a double leg takedown but Yamaji sprawls well. He's pushed Eriksson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Eriksson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Yamaji is fending him off so far but Eriksson persists. Nope, Yamaji circles away and we're back to standing.

Yamaji has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Yamaji there as he acknowledges the shot.

Oh Yamaji is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Eriksson looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Eriksson backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Yamaji's temple! It sends Yamaji violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Eriksson celebrates and the doctors try to help Yamaji!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Karl Eriksson!

Karl Eriksson made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'OMG!!!! WHAT?!? TITS, SUGAR, CANCER, OREOS

Masamichi Yamaji spoke after the fight, saying 'Grrrrrrrrr'.
