Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Lukens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Johnny Lukens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andrew Miller! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Miller is looking to take a break and control but Lukens is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Lukens is trying to get back to full guard. Miller really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lukens. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lukens is pressing down on Miller's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Lukens trying to keep a closed guard but Miller is proving a slippery customer.
Lukens looking for a sweep. Not yet Lukens, not yet. Miller drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Miller jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Miller trying to control the position from guard on top but Lukens is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Miller shoots in for a takedown but Lukens shows good takedown defense. Lukens lands with a slapping head kick. Miller looks for a takedown but Lukens sprawls well. Miller moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Johnny Lukens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Miller. Miller looks gassed! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Miller. Lukens lands a nice looking kick to the body. Miller takes a step back to recover. Miller looks for a takedown but Lukens sprawls well. Lukens moves into range and clinches up with Miller. Lukens wants to get back to striking at distance but Miller won't allow it.

Miller goes for a takedown attempt but Lukens pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Miller fails to land the takedown. Miller shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lukens pinned against the cage. Lukens gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Andrew Miller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Miller shoots in and drives through. Lukens sprawls well. Miller will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A left and a right from Lukens both land. Nice combination. Miller shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lukens as he jumps to the side. Miller keeps the fight on the outside. The fight moves into the clinch position.

Lukens tries to clinch but Miller moves out of range. Lukens closes the distance and clinches. Lukens is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Miller drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Lukens tries to score a body lock takedown but Miller shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Miller has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lukens avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Lukens stalling the fight.

Miller has a takedown stuffed. Miller takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Miller shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lukens as he jumps to the side.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miller fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lukens sprawls well initially but Miller persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Miller passes to side control. Lukens is not content to let Miller control the position. Miller tries to advance to mount but can't. Miller connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Lukens some visible discomfort.
Miller scores with punches from side control. Miller working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Miller wants to control but Lukens is keeping him busy. Lukens is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Miller off and has taken his back! Miller turns into Lukens and is now in his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miller controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Lukens dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Lukens wants to control the action here but instead Miller manages to pass to full mount! Lukens wants to hold on but Miller pushes him away. Lukens looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Lukens manages to reverse the position and now he's in Miller's guard. Nice work there by Lukens.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Miller is trying to keep Lukens in close.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Miller can do anything to dispel that myth. Lukens wants to take a breather but Miller is having none of it. Lukens wants to pass the guard but Miller is defending well. Lukens is working hard here to advance position. Miller slips nicely into half guard. Miller is tying to control. Lukens wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well, if Miller is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That was a close second round but I would say that Johnny Lukens will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Lukens uses his free foot to push down on Miller's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Miller. Miller can't escape the position.
Lukens wants to control the pace but Miller is squirming around nicely. Miller defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Lukens. Lukens avoids the attempt from Miller to control. Lukens is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Miller can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Lukens looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Miller regains half guard. Lukens is tying to control. Miller wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Lukens content to control rather than advance. Miller is not content to let Lukens control the position. Lukens is working for a submission of some sort.

Miller tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Lukens cranks the arm and Miller screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Miller, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
