Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Otis Amber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Harper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tim Harper told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tim Harper! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Daniel Cesar and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Amber gets the takedown into side control. Harper manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Amber is staying active underneath Harper, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Harper looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Amber is defending against the submission attempts here by Harper.
Amber knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Harper on the ground. Amber holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Amber on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Amber tries to get out of the position. Harper wants to pass to mount but Amber is defending the position. Harper should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Harper fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Amber drives through with a takedown into guard.

Amber has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Harper is proving hard to escape from. Harper controls Amber momentarily but Amber frees himself. Amber slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Harper has eaten all the pies! That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Harper is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Amber slips a nice elbow through Harper's hands, connecting with Harper's forehead. Amber trying to pass the guard but Harper defending well. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Amber seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Harper wants to control but Amber is keeping busy and won't allow it. Amber scoring with strikes to the body and head. Amber wants to stand up but Harper is controlling the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Amber closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Harper to the mat! Harper manages to get full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Amber wants to stand but Harper has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Amber looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Amber tries to stand but Harper is controlling from the bottom. Amber preventing the sweep. Harper has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Amber can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Amber postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Amber will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Harper looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Amber looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Harper! Harper wants to hold on but Amber pushes him away. Amber takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Amber seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Harper for as long as he can get away with. Harper tries to hold on but Amber pushes him away. Amber controlling the position easily from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Amber has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Amber wants to control the pace but Harper is squirming around nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Amber controlling from mount.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Otis Amber just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Amber shoots in and bounces Harper off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Harper has momentary wrist control but Amber slips an elbow through the middle.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Amber is in trouble now - Harper has advanced to mount! Harper trying to control but Amber is having none of it. Harper gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Amber shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Harper's guard. Harper controls Amber momentarily but Amber frees himself. Harper looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Otis Amber dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Otis Amber overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Harper is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Amber is in close to Harper's body, working some short punches and elbows. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Amber's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Amber looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Harper! Harper is in all sorts of trouble here.
Amber can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Harper is looking to escape. Harper is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Amber controlling from mount. Amber's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Harper is trying desperately to improve position.

Amber keeping moving, preventing Harper from controlling successfully. Amber is looking to stand up but Harper isn't so interested in that idea. Harper might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Amber kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Amber sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
And that's the end of the fight! Otis Amber showed his dominance in that final round. Well Amber has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
