Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rod Boone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bastion Gallara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rod Boone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bastion Gallara!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gallara throws a sloppy head kick
and Boone counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gallara's guard now.
Boone stands up from Gallara's guard - Boone perhaps looking for a knockout.
Boone could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Gallara misses with a takedown attempt
and Boone counters by clinching up.
Boone has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Gallara regains guard immediately.
Boone in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gallara is working an open guard so Boone takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Gallara misses with a takedown attempt
and Boone counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gallara won't be happy with that.
Boone tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gallara is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boone is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Gallara's shoulder. That is not cool.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Boone scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Gallara to see if he's OK.
Gallara is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Boone asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Boone is trying to get an arm triangle but Gallara is defending well.

Boone has hold of Gallara's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Gallara seems comfortable defending it but Boone has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Gallara is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Gallara is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Boone couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rod Boone!
