Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Nanaki Yotomishi!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yotomishi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Alvarez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Alvarez thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Yotomishi is trying to get back to half guard.
Yotomishi sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Alvarez seems to be working for a kimura but Yotomishi defends the submission attempt.

Alvarez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Alvarez is trying to control. Yotomishi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Yotomishi is looking for a sweep. Alvarez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Alvarez seems to be looking for submissions.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Yotomishi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Alvarez pulls his head out easily.
Yotomishi tries to get to full guard but Alvarez has control of the leg.

Yotomishi wants to control but Alvarez is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Alvarez is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
