Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greek Gyros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Osea Waqu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gyros comes to the cage accompanied by Greek Gyros. Greek Gyros has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greek Gyros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Osea Waqu!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waqu defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gyros.

Waqu closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Waqu lands in his opponent's guard.
Waqu is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Waqu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gyros moves away.
Waqu looks to throw the jab but Gyros is out of range.
Gyros shoots in but no luck this time.

Gyros has managed to clinch.
Waqu with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Waqu is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Osea Waqu hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Waqu pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Waqu feints and then cracks Gyros's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gyros down.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Waqu feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well Waqu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
