Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ryan Barney! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roy Jones! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barney misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Barney throws a head kick that misses. Barney fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Barney throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily. Barney throws a lazy body kick and Jones counters with a nice low kick that buckles Barney's knee momentarily. Barney has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jones finds it's way round the side to connect with Barney's head. Barney looks to land a combination but Jones avoids it well. Barney pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Barney tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jones lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Barney misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jones darts in looking for a takedown but Barney gets double underhooks and turns Jones into the ropes. Jones is trying to push Barney away but Barney has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barney scores with a shoulder strike. Jones tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jones tries to pull guard but Barney forces him back to his feet, against the ropes. Ryan Barney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roy Jones. Jones wants to get back to striking at distance but Barney won't allow it.
Barney is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jones is defending well for now. Barney scores with a nice hook to the head. Barney escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Barney plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Barney definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Barney slips a jab and a cross from Jones.
Jones swings for the body but Barney moves out of range.
Barney throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily. A head kick by Barney misses and Jones counters with a slapping leg kick. Barney is breathing heavily. Jones blocks a head kick by Barney.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barney moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Barney throws a leg kick which misses Jones's front leg but catches the back leg as Jones tries to avoid it. Jones blocks the body kick.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Barney shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Jones avoids the head kick by Barney.
Barney checks the leg kick. Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Barney paws at him with a jab and circles away. Barney lands with a good body shot. Barney throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Barney connects with a body shot that sends Jones's belly button to the back. Jones blocks a head kick by Barney.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Barney keeps the fight on the outside. Jones tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Barney manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Barney throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.

Barney looks to score with a jab to the body but Jones is just out of range. Barney pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Barney shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side. Jones thumps Barney with a low kick. Jones throws a series of punches but Barney moves out of range. Jones blocks a head kick by Barney.
Jones throws a nice inside leg kick. Jones rushes Barney and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to take the fight to the mat but Barney manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Jones wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Barney has him pressed against the ropes. Jones is trying to break the clinch but Barney is controlling him. Jones is trying to push Barney away but Barney has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. Barney tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Barney tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Jones closes the distance and clinches. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Barney breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jones ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Jones tries to clinch up. Barney tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ryan Barney will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Jones moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. A nice combination there by Barney.
A head kick misses from Barney. Jones looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Jones is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Jones throwing shots but Barney is blocking nicely. Jones not landing any meaningful shots this time. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jones throwing shots but Barney is blocking nicely. Jones is working for a kimura but Barney is defending it quite comfortably.
Barney desperately trying to maintain half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Jones missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Jones throwing shots but Barney is blocking nicely. Jones looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Jones throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Barney works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jones trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Jones drops back, looking for a kneebar! Barney looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Barney looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Barney! Barney just content to control the position. Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barney. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Barney tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Barney stands up and we're back to a striking position. Jones thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Barney if he has to take too many more of those.
Barney slaps away a takedown attempt from Jones, before circling back to the center of the mat. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Barney keeps the fight on the outside. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Barney throws a half hearted mid kick. Jones tries to land a leg kick but Barney saw it coming and moves away.

Roy Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Barney ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Jones dives in and grabs Barney's left leg, looking for a takedown. Barney pushes down on Jones's head and hops out. With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Barney just misses with a elbow thrown towards Jones's brow. Barney keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jones's efforts to push away. Jones wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Barney throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Barney stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Jones is looking to break free of the clinch but Barney has double underhooks. Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Barney breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Jones takes a swing at Barney's ribcage but misses. Ryan Barney is winning the standup battle so far. Jones throws a right hand that Barney ducks under and follows up with a left that Barney also avoids with ease. Jones goes for a double leg but Barney avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Barney continues to drive forward. Barney has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jones is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Barney lands on the inside with an uppercut. Barney has Jones pressed against the ropes, preventing Jones from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Jones can't break the clinch.
Jones tries to circle away but Barney has him pinned against the ropes. Barney lands a right hand that snaps the head of Jones backwards. Jones is trying to pull guard but Barney turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch. Ryan Barney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roy Jones.

Barney wants to get up but he can't break Jones's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Barney is looking to work some ground and pound but Jones has wrist control. Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barney is one step ahead there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Barney wants to stand but Jones is controlling his posture from full guard. Jones is looking for a triangle but Barney pushes his legs off easily.
Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barney doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barney manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to stand and escape but Barney is having none of it. Barney seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Barney drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Barney jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Barney missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barney gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Jones is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barney avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Barney drops back looking for a leg! Jones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jones manages to kick Barney off! Barney jumps back into Jones's guard. Barney works a leg free and moves into half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones actively working from the bottom here. Jones is looking to escape. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Barney trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Ryan Barney showed his dominance in that final round. Well Barney has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
