PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between William Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kingston Clottey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, William Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kingston Clottey!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clottey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wallace tries to avoid it but Clottey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wallace to the ground. Wallace escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Clottey fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A head kick misses from Wallace.

Clottey shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Clottey is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Clottey content to control rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Clottey is trying to control the action in half guard but Wallace is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Clottey uses his free foot to push down on Wallace's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Wallace.
Wallace throwing hammer fists to the chest of Clottey. What's that going to do exactly?

Clottey is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Wallace has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Wallace is squirming around, avoiding Clottey's attempts to control the action.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wallace is wriggling around trying to escape.
Wallace is breathing heavily.
Wallace regains half guard.
Clottey perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Wallace is trying to stand back up but Clottey is controlling him
Clottey is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Clottey has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Clottey working for a submission but Wallace is keeping him at bay.

Clottey is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Wallace can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wallace is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Clottey has taken his back!
Clottey lands strikes to the head.

Clottey has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Wallace defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Clottey's arms.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Clottey goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Wallace escapes and is now in half guard on top.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wallace wants to stand up but Clottey is controlling the position.
Clottey slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Clottey has his foot on Wallace's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wallace works his way back into a safe position though.

Wallace tries to stand but Clottey is controlling from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Clottey is pulling down on Wallace's head. It's preventing any offense from Wallace, at least for the moment.
Wallace lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Wallace avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Clottey preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kingston Clottey dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Wallace shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Kingston Clottey has got the better of the ground game so far.
Clottey is trying to escape the mount.
Wallace pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Clottey regains half guard.
Clottey makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Clottey.

Clottey working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wallace doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wallace manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wallace tries to stand but Clottey is controlling from the bottom.

Clottey is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Wallace has his hands clasped together but Clottey extends an breaks Wallace's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Clottey.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kingston Clottey!
